Jun 25, 2014 · Make sure you clean that strainer on the condensate- or boiler-feed pump's inlet. If the check valve doesn't seat tightly, water from the boiler will back up into the receiver, raise the float switch and start the pump. So if you find your condensate- or boiler-feed pump is starting and stopping all the time, take a close look at that check valve.

The pump is a Torishima multistage (10 stage) horizontal axis and is fed from a deaerator. I've chcked all the temperatures/pressures and the water is not at saturation.

The boiler condensate feed pump is sized to overcome the steaming rate, and a level switch on the boiler will turn the pump on and off as the level fluctuates when the burner fires. This is where a boiler feed unit, which consists of a pump and tank, becomes a crucial piece of auxiliary equipment on a boiler.
